What is the difference between coaching and mentoring? Well coaching is like the mother bird bringing food to its offsprings. The mother bird chews and partly digests the food in her mouth before putting it in the offsprings’ mouth. While on the other hand, mentoring is like a lion teaching it’s cub to hunt. The lion won’t hunt on behalf of the cub – but will show, tell, and guide the cub on what to do, how to hide, how to attack, what should be done and what should not, what are the grave errors that need to be avoided, and finally how to enjoy the hard-earned meal – well that’s why the cub grows up to be the king of the jungle, right?
